Uniphy Health Improves Hospital Communications with UH4

February 22, 2017

As we all know, technology is constantly improving. One of the biggest benefits to come out of this fact is the enhancements to healthcare that occur as a result. People are always looking for ways to improve hospital operations and doctor visits, which often results in countless saved lives. The most recent company to make a difference in healthcare is Uniphy Health, thanks to its new solution, UH4.

Uniphy Health provides mobile solutions for clinical communications and collaborations in the hopes of improving healthcare operations. Its newest solution, UH4, is an enterprise-wide platform for hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities that enables all enterprise communications applications to share data and functionality. Bringing together all of those processes and data ultimately allows the communications applications to work together seamlessly.

UH4 allows people, data and communications applications to come together securely because it ensures that the right information always falls into the right hands. Even Gartner has given UH4 its seal of approval, saying that it supports the “Real-Time Health System,” which is a set of technologies that make healthcare organizations “more aware, collaborative and patient-centric.” Gartner states that this type of solution will result in more efficient operations, faster time-to-treatment and improved patient outcomes. What makes UH4 even more beneficial is the fact that all of this is made possible on a single platform, which is purpose-built to support all critical enterprise applications, both clinical and not (including functions such as payroll).

While UH4 has several benefits, the announcement points out a few noteworthy features, including patient-centric communications to connect all members of the care team around the needs of the patient, despite their locations; real-time patient-centric data, which quickly gives physicians access to critical patient data that was previously locked in remote systems; performance metrics and insights; accelerated clinical workflows through automation, which saves doctors and nurses time; and enterprise on a single platform.

Dr. Stuart Hochron, chief medical officer of Uniphy Health, provided some insight into the company’s inspiration to create UH4 by saying, “Healthcare executives consistently tell us their greatest challenges are communications-related…Data is trapped in silos and care pathways are broken. With UH4, the same powerful groupware common in business – customizable role-based applications developed on an enterprise foundation – is now available to healthcare organizations. The UH4 platform makes healthcare measurable, accountable and patient-centric and allows people to work together and work better.”

Hopefully UH4 will effectively connect communications applications within all healthcare facilities, allowing for more efficient communication and more saved lives.
